What is CNG?

Overview

Energy has become a significant issue in most industries. It is especially true for those industries that rely on Petroleum as their source of energy. The major concerns regarding this energy source are increasing prices and environmental issues. Currently, industries are searching for an alternative energy source that is both environmentally friendly and more cost-effective at the same time. At Cipta Niaga Gas, we provide answers for our customers by supplying CNG as an alternative energy solution that is both environmentally friendly and economical. We pride ourselves in delivering our product using one of the safest and best technologies in the world.

What is CNG?

CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) is natural gas that is compressed at a pressure of around 200-250 bar and stored in a system (CNG mobile storage). CNG primarily consists of methane (CH4) and is an alternative energy that is more efficient, safe, clean, and environmentally friendly compared to other fuels like diesel fuel, LPG, or MFO, especially in areas where pipeline gas supply is not available.

Advantages of CNG Compared to Other Fuels

CNG has a high calorific value and burns more completely and efficiently, resulting in lower emissions and making it more environmentally friendly compared to fuels like diesel, LPG, and coal.

Cleaner Combustion

CNG has a high calorific value and burns more completely and efficiently, resulting in lower emissions and making it more environmentally friendly compared to fuels like diesel, LPG, and coal.

Safer

CNG is lighter than air, so in the event of a leak, the gas quickly disperses into the atmosphere and does not settle on the ground. This reduces the risk of fire and explosions compared to heavier fuels like LPG.

Lower Maintenance Costs

Equipment using CNG tends to experience less wear and residue buildup because CNG burns more cleanly. This results in lower maintenance costs and longer equipment life.

Efficiency

CNG is relatively more economical compared to other fossil fuels like diesel or LPG, offering cost efficiency to users.

Sustainability

As a cleaner fossil fuel, CNG can be considered a bridge towards renewable energy use, as it reduces reliance on unclean fuels.
